Hey, everyone. Welcome to the 2016 Mix Contest recap. |

Since the last episode of the year fell before the holidays, we want to take a few minutes today and wrap up the entire contest here from our judges. |

And of course, make that big announcement as to who's taking home the grand prize. |

But before we do that, let's take a moment and appreciate all of our past DJs. |

We had an amazing last couple of weeks, starting off with eight finalists. |

We had to see them off one by one, starting with HLR 64, wander, Phosphene, Herisbon, Melodynamic, and Duality. |

Each of you gave it your very best and have everything to be proud of, indeed. |

Now that leaves us with two remaining challengers: Rocketman and Underscores. |

Before we hear from the judges, let's get a quick tally of where we stand with the community votes. |

When it came down to the final challenge, one of the two mixes I felt did a better job of focusing on the areas in between their high-energy segments, creating a more seamless mix. |

The mix I chose I thought flowed really well and showcased a lot of the variety Monstercat with a great mixture of heavy and melodic tracks. |
